Customer Agreement with BlockChef

Important – please read these terms carefully. By using this mobile application or website you, the customer, agree that you have read, understood, accepted and agreed with the Terms of Use. You further agree to the representations made by yourself below. If you do not agree to or fall within the Terms of Use of the Service and wish to discontinue using the Service, please do not continue using the Application (as defined below) or the Service.

The Terms of Use stated herein (collectively, the “Terms of Use” or this “Agreement”) constitute a legal agreement between you (the “Customer”) and BlockChef Pte Ltd. (the “Company”).


The following terminology applies to these Terms and Conditions, Privacy Notice & Policy and any or all Agreements. “User”, ”Guest”, “Neighbour”, “Customer”, “You” and “Your” refers to you, the person accessing this website and affiliated mobile application, and accepting the Company’s terms and conditions.

“The Company”, “Ourselves”, “We” and “Us”, refers to our mobile application, BlockChef or our Company, BlockChef Pte. Ltd. “Party”, “Parties”, or “Us”, refers to both the Customers and ourselves, or either the Customer or ourselves.

All terms refer to the offer, acceptance and consideration of payment necessary to undertake the process of our assistance to the Customer in the most appropriate manner for the express purpose of meeting the Customer’s needs in respect of provision of the Company’s stated services/products, in accordance with and subject to, prevailing applicable Laws of Singapore. Any use of the above terminology or other words in the singular, plural, capitalisation and/or he/she or they, are taken as interchangeable and therefore as referring to the same.

  3. Confidentiality
    • Customer records are regarded as confidential and therefore BlockChef will not divulge to any third party, other than our marketing vendor or if legally required to do so to the appropriate authorities.
    • Customers undertake not to divulge the personal data or information of any Chef at whose venue where the service was conducted or delivered.
  4. Cancellation Policy
    • When a Customer wishes to cancel a confirmed booking prior to the fulfilment of service, the cancellation policy as appended will apply.

    • Discounts applied via credits/promo codes are not refundable in cash.
    • The booking shall be deemed cancelled only upon acknowledgement of BlockChef's confirmation of your cancellation. BlockChef reserves the right to cancel booking at any time at Block Chef's discretion with full refund of the booking amount to the Customer
    • Should a Chef cancel a confirmed booking, BlockChef will refund the Guest the full booking amount paid by the Customer, regardless of the lead time towards fulfilment date. An email notification will be sent to the Customer to inform him/her of the cancellation.
    • BlockChef shall not bear any liability for any cost, expense, loss or damage that the Chef or Customer may suffer or incur, as a result of either party’s cancellation of a booking.
  5. Disclaimer, Exclusions and Limitations
    • All content, including software, products, services, information, text and related graphics contained within or available through the site are provided to you on an “As Is” , “As Available” Basis.
    • All photos in the website and in the mobile application are for illustration only and may not be representative of the actual dish or meal delivered to customer.
    • BlockChef make no representations or warranties of any kind, either express or implied, as to the operation of the mobile application or website and its contents or which is or may be provided by any affiliates or any other third party, including in relation to any inaccuracies or omissions to this mobile application or website.
    • BlockChef does not warrant or guarantee that:
      • the mobile application, website or any of their respective features or function will operate error-free or uninterrupted
      • defects will be corrected
      • mobile application or the site and / or its servers will be free of viruses or harmful code
      • content and information available shall continue to be available
      • any specific result from use of mobile application or website
    • Therefore, BlockChef shall disclaim any express condition including relating to accuracy, timeliness, completeness, non-infringement or quality results for any particular purpose or those arising by law, statute, usage of trade or course of dealing.
    • BlockChef shall be excluded from all liability for damages arising out of or in connection with your use of this mobile application or website. This includes, without limitation, direct loss, loss of business or profits (whether or not the loss of such profit was foreseeable) damages caused to your computer, mobile, computer software, systems and programs, and the data thereon or any other direct or indirect, consequential and incidental damages.
    • BlockChef put high priority in food safety measures. All Chefs registered with BlockChef will be advised on all the guidelines stipulated by Singapore Food Authority (SFA). However, BlockChef shall not bear any responsibility if the Chef did not complete the service, the conduct of the Chef, the Health of the Chef, the state and quality of the meal provided by the Chef.
    • BlockChef shall disclaim all liability arising from injuring, deterioration of health or death resulting in consumption of food provided by the Chef.
    • These Terms and condition and foregoing liability disclaimer shall not affect mandatory legal rights that cannot be excluded under Applicable Law.
  6. Acceptance & Termination of Customer Agreement
    • By filling in all the details and upon checkout from either the mobile application or website, you as the customer, is deemed to have read, understood, accepted and agreed with the terms of this Agreement.
    • Customer may terminate this Agreement by giving BlockChef an email notice, or by terminating their account via the mobile application. The Termination date shall commence after the end of the notice period
      • Should there be a booking made by the Customer prior to the Termination date, Customer hereby agrees to the Cancellation policy as stated in clause 3 of this Agreement.
  7. Undertaking by Customer
    • As a condition for the usage of this mobile application or website, you warrant that all information rendered by you is true, accurate and complete to the best of knowledge of the Customer at the time of disclosure.
    • Customer under 18 years old will need to seek consent from a parent or guardian.
    • Customer accepts that should there be any changes to the services rendered by the Home Chef, BlockChef or the Home Chef may inform the Customer by text message, a phone call, communication from the mobile apps or an email.
    • Customer undertakes to disclose his / her allergy to the Home Chef. If there is any ingredient that is known to the Customer as a source of his / her allergy, Customer is responsible to inform or check with the Home Chef. Therefore, Customer further waives any right of claims or indemnity from BlockChef if Customer suffers from an allergy attacks or becomes unwell after consuming food offered by the Home Chef.
    • Customer shall consume the food within the time window stated on the time stamp or within 2 hours upon receiving the food whichever is earlier.
    • If Customer has any adverse experience with the Home Chef or feeling unwell after consumption of the food, Customer undertakes to inform BlockChef.
    • BlockChef provides insurance coverage for Home Chef for medical bills from Customer who suffers from food poisoning arising from consumption of food provided by Home Chef. The insurance company may investigate the case when a claim arises. The compensation payable shall be fully determined by the insurance company.
  8. Payment
      Payment must be made immediately by Customer at the point of accepting Home Chef booking on mobile application or website. Payment can be made available by the methods provided at our mobile application and website.

  11. BlockChef may log visitor information such as Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for purposes of administration of the website, usage analysis and marketing.
  12. For system administration, our web servers will automatically log standard access information including browser type, access times/open mail, URL requested, and referral URL to detect usage patterns and for troubleshooting purposes. This information will only be used by the Company and will not be shared with third parties.


  13. Similar to most interactive website, we use cookies to recognise your browser or device, study user interest and provided you with essential features and services including:
    • Recognising you when you sign in to use our services
    • Keeping track of your preferences
    • Keeping track of your items stored in your cart
    • Preventing fraudulent activity
    • Improving security

    • Creation of link from this Website: BlockChef does not monitor or review the content of third parties websites which are linked to from this website. We will not be accountable for the content, privacy policies or practices of such third party websites. All the contents, materials or opinions expressed on such website shall neither by constitute as an endorsement by BlockChef nor regarded as the publisher. BlockChef hereby disclaims all liability for any failure of products or services offered or advertised at third party websites. As such, we encourage User to evaluate the security and trustworthiness of third party website before revealing any personal information to those sites. We will not accept any responsibility for any loss or damages resulting from your disclosure of your personal information to third party websites.
    • Intellectual Property
  15. Ownership: The intellectual property, user-generated and user-submitted material uploaded to the platform are owned, licensed to or controlled by BlockChef, our licensors, and/or our service providers. We reserve the right to enforce its intellectual property to the fullest extent of the law.
    • Electronic Communication
    • Communication with BlockChef can be done by sending messages, emails or other communication modes from your desktop or mobile device. You consent to receive communications from us electronically, such as text, mobile push notices, emails, notices and messages on this site.
    • You may communicate, submit suggestions, idea, comments , questions or other information provided the content is not illegal, obscene, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, objectionable, infringing of intellectual property rights (including publicity rights) or otherwise distressing to third parties. Contents should not contain software viruses, commercial solicitation, mass mailing or any form of “spam: or unsolicited commercial electronic messages. BlockChef may not review all user-generated or user-submitted content but reserve the right (but not the obligation) to remove or edit such content.
  16. Force Majeure

Both parties shall not be liable for any failure for non-performances of any obligation under any Agreement if the termination of the contract is due, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly to an event beyond our reasonable control including but not limited to any force majeure event such as terrorism, war, political insurgence, riot, earthquake, flood or any other natural or man-made sources that is unforeseeable and beyond our control.
  18. Waiver

  19. Our failure to enforce the performance of any provision of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of these terms. Additionally, our failure to exercise any right or remedy that we are entitled hereunder shall not cause a diminution of the obligations for this Agreement. Such failures shall not affect the right later to enforce these Terms and would still be entitled to use our rights and remedies in any other situation where you breach these terms.
  20. General

Governing Law: The usage of the website, mobile application, online platform and/or associated services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Singapore law and you consent to these terms and conditions and to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts in all disputes arising out of such usage.
  22. Modification

BlockChef reserves the right to change, add or delete the terms and conditions of this Agreement or any portion there of from time to time in its sole discretion where it deems it necessary and reasonable for legal, general regulatory and technical purposes, or due to changes in the services provided by our mobile application and website.
  24. BlockChef may change, discontinue any aspect of the services at any time including availability of any feature, database or content. We may set limits on certain features and services or restrict your access to all or parts of this website or mobile apps without notice or liability for technical or security reasons to prevent against unauthorised access, loss of, or destruction of data or at our sole discretion if we determined you to be in breach of any provision of this Agreement or of any law or regulation. Continued usage of the mobile application or website shall indicate acceptance by you of such modifications.
