Description

The pork jowl of our signature Cheeky Don™ is prepared through a 5-steps method. More than 24 hours of brining and marinating in our secret brining solution. Next, it is pan-seared, flame-torched, and smoke with high quality green apple wood chips from the USA. We guaranteed it will be fully packed with umami!

Served with Takenoko Gohan (たけのこご飯) and Chimichurri sauce.

Cheeky Don™ やんちゃなライスボウル is a unique food concept by Chef Jacky Tan. The brand specialises in Japanese style rice bowl (Donburiどんぶり). Its delicious signature pork jowl don or cheeky don, is prepared meticulously in a five-steps process - brining, marinating, pan-searing, blowtorching, and smoking. Thus, lifting the flavours up to the next level. Other donburi flavour include Shogayaki 豚の生姜焼き(Grilled Ginger Pork Shoulder).

The Signature Cheeky Don is so delicious that I finished every grain and every drop of soup! The pork jowl is smoky, tender, and flavourful. The chimichurri sauce with a slight spicy kick complements the meat perfectly and cuts the richness. Love how the fresh king oyster mushrooms are cut to shape like scallops. Even the seemingly plain rice delights me with the crunchy young bamboo shoot cubes and taupok. And I am happy to see generous amounts of fresh mushrooms in the miso soup. I could feel Chef Jacky's love and care in every detail of this meal. Thank you!
